APG Learning System (APGLS)

In keeping with the mindset of being the best, APG is concentrating our efforts on continuous improvement within our organization. APG is a learning company that believes through continuous improvement we can focus on what we do great and understand the areas where we need to improve. Embracing change and constantly evaluating our internal and external processes allows APG to gain efficiencies in our daily operations and increase our customer’s satisfaction.

Through our alliance with Herman Miller, APG created the APG Learning System. The APG Learning System utilizes key principles from the Herman Miller Production System. Herman Miller developed their production system to focus on a corporate strategy of lean manufacturing through their relationship with the Toyota Supplier Support Center. The APG Learning System implements a problem solving framework that identifies root causes in our processes and takes action to resolve these root causes.

The APG Learning System Problem Solving Approach:

  • GO and See the Current Condition – What is the problem?
  • PLAN – Form a hypothesis (cause/effect)
  • DO – Try your idea
  • CHECK – Evaluate; were new problems created?
  • ACT – Standardize and Communicate (If failed, go back to "Plan" step)
